SEC NRS held a meeting with the delegation of the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (Association for Safety of Installations and Reactors (GRS))

31.01.2013 On January 29, 2013 in frames of the visit to Moscow of the delegation of the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (Association for Safety of Installations and Reactors (GRS), Germany) headed by Mr. Frank-Peter Weiß, Director for Scientific and Technical Part, SEC NRS held a working meeting with the leadership and leading specialists of the scientific and technical support organization (TSO) for Rostechnadzor.

In the course of the meeting the representatives of SEC NRS informed the German colleagues about the activity of the Centre of scientific and technical support for the Russian regulatory body in all three directions – legal and regulatory frameworks, licensing and safety supervision. Particular attention was paid to the scientific activity, as well as to the issues of arrangement and conduct of the safety review. Mr. Frank-Peter Weiß presented a report on the activity of GRS. Moreover, the parties informed each other on the work performed in the area of assistance to the embarking countries (Belarus, Vietnam) in the part of creation of a safety regulation infrastructure.

In conclusion of the meeting the parties shared opinions and expressed satisfaction for the results of their mutual activity, and also discussed the major directions of bilateral cooperation for the period up to 2015.

Based on the meeting results, Mr. A.A. Khamaza and Mr. Frank-Peter Weiß signed the "Memorandum of Intent for Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Nuclear and Radiation Safety for the Period of 2013–2015".
