IAEA Regulatory Cooperation Forum Safety Culture Mission to Belarus on safety culture in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, where delegation of Rostechnadzor took part in, was completed 04.12.2014 The IAEA Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) mission to Belarus on safety culture in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy took place on December 2 and 3, 2014, in Minsk. The team of international high level experts was headed by Denis Flory, IAEA Deputy Director General.

During the mission, Rostechnadzor was represented by Alexey Ferapontov, Deputy Chairman, and Tatiana Bogdanova, representative of SEC NRS, Laboratory Head of Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities Safety Division)

In frames of a workshop held for the representatives of the concerned Belorussian ministries and agencies, Alexey Ferapontov reported on the Rostechnadzor activities and Russian approaches to enhancing safety culture at nuclear energy facilities, primarily the nuclear power plants.

The team of international experts also included representatives of the regulatory authorities of the USA, France, and Vietnam, staff members of the IAEA and a representative of the European Commission.

The major part of the mission was dedicated to meetings with high-ranking officials of the Republic of Belarus, where the mission participants shared their national experience in the area of improving safety culture at the nuclear power plants. In particular, the RCF mission met with Vladimir Semashko, First Deputy Prime Minster of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Potupchik, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, and Vladimir Vashchenko, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
