The contest for young specialists “The Competition of the Graduates-2015” took place in SEC NRS on April 28, 2015

29.04.2015 The Scientific and Technical Council was provided with seven entries.

After consideration of “The Competition of the Graduates” results, the lead was gained by Andrey KIRKIN, Head of laboratory of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Division. The topic of the presented report was “Computation and Experimental Research of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Indices in Respect to Spent Nuclear Fuel Transportation in TUK-153”.

The second place was shared by:
Alexey SAMOKHIN (from Nuclear Power Plants Safety Division) who presented the report “Application of Three-Dimensional Coupled Codes QUABOX/CUBBOX-ATHLET for Computation of Various Transient Processes in RBMK-1000 Reactor”, and
German PIPCHENKO and Anastasia POLIKARPOVA (from Nuclear Power Plants Safety Division) which presented their joined report “The Model of Express-Assessment of Safety Functions Status in Relation to VVER-type Reactors”.

Eduard NIKITIN (Fuel Cycle Facilities Safety Division) who presented report “Safety Assessment for Operation of Near-Surface Storage Facilities for Radioactive Waste in Placement and Retrieval of Waste”;
Danila SAVIN (Radiation Safety Division) and the subject of the report “Computation of the Potential Exposure Doses for Population Living on the Territory Contaminated by Natural Uranium by Means of RESRAD Software”;
Lyubov STARTSEVA (Fuel Cycle Facilities Safety Division) with the report on “Predictive Assessment of the Long-Term Safety of Near-Surface Storage Facilities in Respect to Intrusion Scenarios”; and
Pavel RODIN (Building Structure Reliability Division) with the report titled “Analysis of the Velocities and Displacements of the Soils at the NPP Kashivazaki-Kariva Earthquake”
were ranked third.

“The Competition of the Graduates” is organized in SEC NRS annually for six years. The fundamental purpose of this competition is to provide assistance to young specialists encouraging their scientific research and rewarding for scientific breakthrough that significantly contribute to the enhancement of nuclear power industry.
