XVI All-Russian Scientific and Practice Conference “Emergencies Forecasting Problems”

Hosted by the All-Russia Scientific Research Institute on Problems of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) the XVI All-Russian Scientific and Practice Conference is ongoing on the topic: “Emergencies Forecasting Problems”.

The Conference organizer is the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM of Russia).

The Conference is devoted to the issues of the state-of-the–art and improvement of the system of monitoring, laboratory control and forecasting of natural, human-induced, and biologically & socially induced emergencies; use of the data of satellite monitoring at forecasting and prevention of emergencies; as well as risk assessment for emergencies occurrence.

The participants of the Conference are the outstanding Russian scientists, skilled workers, and specialists in the field of risk assessment for emergencies occurrence and prevention, including the representatives of Ministries, Federal Services, Federal Agencies and Organizations, namely: the RF Ministry of Defense, the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs, the RF Ministry of Energy, the RF Ministry of Natural Resources, the Federal Road Agency, the Russian Agency for Patents and Trademarks, the Federal Service for Employment and Labor Relations, the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency, the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision, the Federal Service of Russia for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the Environment, the Federal Forestry Agency, Rostechnadzor, the RF National Guard, the Russian Academy of Sciences and other Russian concerned institutes and organizations of the federal executive bodies, and also organizations.

The videoconferencing involves more than 170 specialists of the EMERCOM of Russia, and more than 100 reports have been planned to be presented in frames of the Conference. The issue-related exhibition was exposed during the Conference with the participants from: SEC NRS of Rostechnadzor, VNII GOChS, the “Antistihia” Center, the SRC “Planeta”, and the Institute of Computational Technologies of SB RAS.

At the sessions the participants of the Conference have formulated the problem issues and proposals in the part of improvement of the system for monitoring, laboratory control and forecasting of emergencies.

There was noted the critical need in more effective inter-agency interaction and the necessity for upgrading of the level of joint scientific and practical developments in the field of monitoring, laboratory control and forecasting of emergencies.
