Enactment of RB-020-22

On August 25, 2022 the Safety Guide RB-020-22 “Recommendations on Selection of Reference Units of Standard Elements of NPP Instrumentation and Control Systems Applied for Lifetime Management Activities” was put into effect.

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on selection of reference units of standard elements of NPP instrumentation and control systems applied for lifetime management activities.

RB-020-22 covers NPP instrumentation and control systems included into the lifetime management program for NPP unit equipment and pipelines in compliance with the requirements of NP-096-15.

The Safety Guide is recommended to be applied by organizations performing design, engineering, manufacture, operation and decommissioning of NPP instrumentation and control systems, as well as organizations performing works in the field of standardization in frames of documents included into the summary list of documents on standardization applied on a mandatory basis and envisaged by the provision on standardization with regard to products (works, services), for which the safety requirements in the field of atomic energy use are established, as well as to processes and other subjects for standardization related to such products, approved by the Ordinance of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 669 of July 12, 2016 .
