Rostechnadzor and NNR had a workshop on regulatory experience exchange in the field of account, control and physical protection of nuclear materials

01.06.2015 The National Nuclear Regulator of South Africa and Rostechnadzor representatives attended the joint workshop on regulatory experience exchange in the field of account, control and physical protection of nuclear materials held in Hartbeespoort (South Africa) on May 25-27, 2015.

The workshop covered information presentation on Russian experience in regulating and inspection of physical protection of nuclear material, nuclear installations and storage sites, control and accounting of nuclear material, radioactive substances and waste as well as NNR regulating activity in the field of nuclear security.

Being a member of Rostechnadzor delegation Denis Mistryugov, SEC NRS Head International Relations, presented the information on Rostechnadzor experience in conducting IAEA IRRS Missions.

The workshop program contained the site visit to the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) which allowed the Russian delegation to visit NECSA Emergency Control Centre, SAFARI-1 research reactor, low radioactive waste storage facility.
