The XIth International Nuclear Forum “Safety of Nuclear Technologies” started its work

The Forum gathers together leading specialists in nuclear power industry from different countries. The XI-th Forum’s primary goal is to promote the improvement of nuclear facilities safety level through the development and improvement of the safety culture.

Forum is organized by the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and St. Petersburg branch of Rosatom Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training (ROSATOM-CICE&T).

Mr. Alexander Lokshin (First Deputy Director General for Operations Management, State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM) is the Board Chairman of the Forum.

Plenary and section meetings, panel discussions as well as master classes and technical tours are included into the programme of this Forum.

Also as part of the XI-th International Nuclear Forum the following will be organized

• The V-5th International Safety and Security Culture School,
• Master classes to apply methods and instruments for safety culture evaluation and enhancement.

The main topics of this Forum are as follows

• Development of the legal framework for safety culture provisions at the nuclear facilities;
• The safety culture integration into an organization’s management system;
• Safety culture models;
• International and national experience for safety culture enhancement in nuclear power and nuclear industry, and other potentially hazardous industries;
• Interaction in the man-technology-organization system;
• Practical instruments for safety culture improvement: personnel selection, education and training, activities of training institutions, psychological, medical and human factors;
• Lessons learned from incidents and accidents, analysis and operating experience;
• Critical knowledge management and transfer.

This year the International Nuclear Forum “Safety of Nuclear Technologies” will took place in the period of October 03–07 at the site of St. Petersburg branch of Rosatom Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training (ROSATOM-CICE&T) .

“The safety culture” will be the central theme of this Forum.
