Alexey Aleshin comes to Bangladesh with a working visit

On March 5, 2019 the Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) Alexey Aleshin came to the People’s Rebublic of Bangladesh with a working visit.

Rostechnadzor Chairman visited construction site of Rooppur NPP located in Pabna District 160 km away from Bangladesh capital Dhaka. There, Mr Aleshin became familiar with current status of construction. Alexey Aleshin will also have a working meeting with Mr Naiyyum Choudhury, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority Chairman, to discuss the issues concerning Russian-Bangladesh supervisory authorities cooperation.

On March 6 regular meeting of Russia-Bangladesh Joint Coordination Committee on Rooppur NPP Construction project will take place in Dhaka.

As a reminder: Rooppur NPP in being constructed in compliance with the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Bangladesh concluded in November of 2011. In autumn of 2013, the first stone was laid at the foundation of the future NPP. It is planned that first phase NPPs will be supplied with two units with Russian reactors with a capacity of 1200 MW per each reactor.
